Come and enjoy a four
day weekend of spiritual food in the beautiful wooded setting of Camp
Clearfork just a half hour from Hot Springs, AR.
Accomodations: Mid America Sisterhood has rented the entire camp
for the weekend. There are enough cabins to accommodate 75 people. Each
cabin has 3 rooms in it, some with eight bunks, some with four. The
bunks have mattresses, but you will need to bring your own bedding,
throw rugs, and heaters. There are a few cabins with a bathroom for
those who need one close. There is a very nice heated bath house easily
accessible from all cabins. The Meeting/Dining Hall is wheelchair
accessible.
Food: As we did last year, we are asking each family to bring
items on the menu list to contribute to the food for the weekend. Kathy
Grant will be organizing the kitchen and will need volunteers to pitch
in to prepare the food that is brought. Please take note of the
following menu and bring the quantity of food that would feed your
family. That way there should be plenty to go around.
Breakfasts: Oatmeal, toast, spreads, jams, fruits, and nuts. Cold
cereal, milks, juices. Maybe one day with waffles and pancakes and fruit
soup.
Evenings: PNB
sandwiches, breads, spreads, soups, fruit, nuts, popcorn, celery sticks,
and carrots.
Friday lunch:
Beans, salads, cornbread, breads, spreads, vegetables and fruit.
Sabbath lunch: Haystacks, fruits, salads, raw veggie trays and
dips.
Sunday lunch: Spaghetti, salads, raw veggies, garlic toast.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooler, stoves, ovens, sinks, pots
and pans. It would be helpful if some can bring a toaster and pop corn
popper. We will be using paper plates, bowls, cups, and plastic cutlery.
Registration: Please call Joan Swope at 870-387-5053 to reserve
cabin space. If you want to bring an RV, there is a campground right
across the highway – Charlton Recreation Area. Call 870-867-2101 for
information and costs for camping there.
Cost for the Campmeeting: A suggested donation of $20 - $25 per
person should adequately cover the costs incurred for renting the camp.
An offering box will be made available to contribute toward the
speaker’s travel expenses. There is no additional charge for food since
everyone is pitching in to provide the meals.
Note: campground will be opened at 2:30 PM Thursday and we will
need to have the place cleaned up and leave by 2:30 PM Sunday.
Participation: If you have a testimony or a special music
selection that you would like to share, please contact Julie Shurley at
479-394-7111.
